Miami football navigates an easy September schedule to perfection.

Sept. 5: Temple Owls

885. 35. 834. Prediction. 21

Miami will begin its 2020 NCAA season at home vs. the Temple Owls. Though the Canes will assert themselves as the better throughout the contest, a slow start will lead to Miami not putting away a solid Temple team early. A pair of fourth-quarter turnovers for the Owls allow Miami to win on opening weekend by multiples scores. Miami, 35-21.

Sept. 12: Wagner Seahawks

Even though Miami will outclass the Wagner Seahawks from opening kickoff, The U will have a ton of fun in this one. Because D’Eriq King is only in Miami for one season, look for Manny Diaz to have a little bit too much fun with his starting quarterback. He gets pulled midway through the fourth quarterback, but the Canes could have skated to 2-0 by halftime. Miami, 57-17.

Sept. 17: UAB Blazers

Feeling pretty good about themselves, the Canes will think they can cakewalk to 3-0 when the UAB Blazers come to town. That was their first mistake. There will be moments where Blazers head coach Bill Clark will outcoach Diaz on the sidelines. Not to say UAB will ever lead in this game, but it’ll be within a touchdown throughout most of this football game. Miami, 30-19.

Sept. 26: at Michigan State Spartans (East Lansing, MI)

27. 834. 14. 805. Prediction

We have to give the Miami athletic department props for scheduling a quality Big Ten program in the non-conference and having the stones to play Michigan State in East Lansing. In most years, this would have been a tough road game for the Canes. However, it’ll be rebuilding effort for Mel Tucker with his Spartans and Diaz gets his team to 4-0 very easily in this one. Miami, 27-14.
