Trevor Lawrence is a highlight waiting to happen on the college football field.
While Lawrence has been in the news this offseason for all the right reasons because of his leadership during the Black Lives Matter movement sweeping across the United States, the guy is also arguably the best player in college football today. At 6-foot-6 with a rocket and and great mobility, no wonder he’s essentially a lock to go No. 1 in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Lawrence is one of the favorites win the Heisman Trophy along with fellow Georgia native Justin Fields of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Right now, Clemson football and Ohio State football are on a collision course to meet in the College Football Playoff once again, this time probably for a national title.
Since it seems like eons ago we had football in our lives, take some of that extra time you now have these days and sink your teeth into some sweet, delicious Lawrence highlights from his sensational sophomore season. His 2019 campaign at Clemson was incredible and we cannot wait for what he has in store for us in 2020.
These Trevor Lawrence highlights must have you hyped for college football.
While he may doing this against essentially ACC cannon fodder, you will find several things from this awesome highlight package that will leave you simply amazed. The first thing you’ll probably notice is his undeniable arm strength. It may not be Patrick Mahomes-level, but Lawrence can make every throw imaginable from all parts of the field and from any throwing angle.
Next, you’ll probably recognize his willingness to step up in the pocket, throw the ball downfield and trusts his receivers to make contested catches. While he may not have the same amount of football talent he has at Clemson at the professional level, his proclivity for big-time throws is a separating factor in his pro football evaluation.
And third, you’ll see Lawrence isn’t afraid to make a play or two with his legs. Despite being 6-foot-6, Lawrence isn’t content with being just a statue in the pocket. If he needs to roll out of the pocket to by his receivers time, he’ll do it. If he needs to scamper to pay dirt in goal-line situations, he’s all about putting points on the board and then celebrating with his teammates.
As long as Lawrence doesn’t suffer a debilitating injury or struggle mightily in his true junior season out of Cartersville, Georgia, he will be the top pick in next spring’s NFL Draft. Lawrence projects as the next Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning or John Elway at the professional level. For now, we have one more season to watch him set the ACC ablaze while at Clemson.
Keep watching Lawrence highlights, as it’s the best way to pass time before opening weekend.
