Ed Orgeron wants all of LSU football to “geaux veauxt” this election cycle.

LSU football coach Ed Orgeron wants his players to make sure they all register to vote.

Who needs Uncle Sam when you’ve got Coach O? Ed Orgeron appeared on ESPN Radio 104.5 FM’s “Off the Bench” last week. He discussed with Jordy Culotta and T-Bob Hebert what he and his team are doing in response to the George Floyd murder and the Black Lives Matter movement. One thing the LSU Tigers are doing is getting registered to vote, every single one of them.

“I talked to them about specific stuff that’s going on in our world today and I had a leadership committee, 12 of our guys, we got together and voice their opinion for us to come up with a solution,” said Orgeron.

“One of the solutions they came up with as a group, to represent the team, is that we’re all going to register to vote. All of our players will be checking in today and we’re going to register to vote online.”

This is yet another reason why Coach O is better than you. Not only is a College Football Playoff-winning head football coach and arguably the best recruiter in college football, but he is a man of the people and a man who will do anything for his players. He’s staying in shape by running shirtless this summer and getting his players signed up to vote.

Coach O knows we need football, but he’s also an incredibly aware man. He knows the health concerns out there, as illustrated by his incredible PSA back in March.

Orgeron isn’t the first head football coach in the SEC to get all his players registered to vote for this upcoming Presidential election. New Missouri Tigers head coach Eliah Drinkwitz marched with all his players to the Columbia courthouse and got them registered as well a few weeks back. What can you say, the SEC is a copycat league after all?
