Austin Ekeler would be the easy choice for someone to breakout but that’s reflected in the rankings. Let’s talk about their talented receiving corp.

The drafting of Justin Herbert and departure of Philip Rivers signaled the Chargers call for a rebuild. Tyrod Taylor is the presumed starter at the moment, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see Herbert get in there sooner than later.

Keenan Allen (currently ranked as WR18): I feel like the departure of Philip Rivers has caused people to think Keenan Allen will take a huge hit. Maybe I’m a hater, but I never thought Rivers was ‘THAT’ good. He had flashes of brilliance, but flashes of incompetence too. He always seemed to want to chuck it deep to Mike Williams, and this resulted in many 3 and out possessions and not many opportunities at scoring.

There’s no denying Keenan Allen’s skill. He’s an exceptional route runner. There’s plenty of value in selecting him where he is currently ranked. Now for some facts: Keenan finished as WR6 (in PPR) in 2019. He had a total of 261.5 points.

As for the year before, he was WR12 in 2018 with 260.1 points. That’s a difference of less than 2 points on the season. Talk about consistency. Keenan is a PPR machine. He has a high floor in terms of what you can expect out of him, and he will only get better this year.

Keenan should see plenty of dump offs and slants from Tyrod (or Justin), many more than he received with Rivers. Keenan is poised to have another great WR6-12 season, and you’ll be getting him at a fraction of the cost.

Now to the defending Super Bowl Champs.
