1. Does Florida football finally get past Georgia?

As mentioned, the question of Trask’s development might be the biggest of the 2020 season for Florida. But for many fans, there is one thing that could even make an 11-2 season like last year actually not be deemed successful. That’s losing to Georgia in the annual meeting in Jacksonville, which the Gators have struggled in as of late, losing their last three meetings with the Bulldogs.

It’s worth noting that, as Florida has started to find their footing under Mullen, they have started to get closer to topping UGA. They lost 42-7 in the 2017 season and were again blown out in 2018 as the Gators fell 36-17. Last year, however, it was just a 24-17 outcome that didn’t go in their favor. This rivalry, however, isn’t measured by margin of defeat — it’s about wins.

In the simplest terms, the winner of the SEC East is almost surely going to be determined, once again, by the winner of the rivalry matchup between Florida and Georgia. Subsequently, for the Gators to have a shot at winning the conference and, thus, the College Football Playoff, they must find a way to get past the Bulldogs.

Make no mistake, Georgia is going to be far from a pushover in 2020. They may have the best defense in the country, which puts all the more pressure on Trask and the offense. Furthermore, the Bulldogs at least have potential and talent on offense, which puts more pressure on Florida’s defense. In any case, though, what the Gators’ season ends up like will come down to if they can top their rivals this year or not.
