The Ravens will still be a really good team in 2020, but here are five reasons why Baltimore will regress from great to good this season.

The Baltimore Ravens took the NFL by storm in 2019 and blitzed the competition for 14 regular-season wins. Baltimore isn’t going to be able to repeat that feat in 2020.

That doesn’t mean the Ravens won’t be a really good team this season. They still should be a playoff team that challenges for an AFC North title. The point here is that Baltimore isn’t going to run away with the division again.

Instead, look for them to finish the campaign with 10 or 11 wins. That still makes them a threat to win a Super Bowl, but they won’t be an elite regular-season team again. The following five things will cause serious regression for the Ravens in 2020.

5. Marquise Brown won’t catch enough passes

Brown is an excellent big-play threat, but he’s not ready to be a team’s No. 1 wide receiver for a full 16-game slate. He’s simply too small to soak up triple-digit catches for Jackson and this offense at this point in his young career.

That’s going to be a problem for an offense that wants to throw the ball more effectively in 2020. Look for the Ravens to struggle to move the ball through the air in obvious passing situations. Miles Boykin does give Jackson a big-bodied target, but he doesn’t have the talent to be a bona fide star.

There’s a chance Brown can grow into a legitimate All-Pro in time, but this won’t be the year where he makes that leap. His inability to dominate cornerbacks on short and intermediate routes is going to cause Baltimore to take a significant step backward.
