2. Michigan State basketball: Will Xavier Tillman or Aaron Henry forego the NBA?

One of the biggest unintended side effects of the coronavirus-related sports shutdown is the massive delay in the NBA Draft. Since the NBA has yet to resume its season, the draft (which was originally scheduled for June 25) has been postponed until October.

None of the activities associated with the draft have happened either, including the combine and scouting events, leaving potential draftees in the lurch. Two Michigan State basketball players have tested the draft waters in Xavier Tillman and Aaron Henry.

It appears more likely that Henry will return to school, but Tillman’s status is still up in the air. A lot of mock drafts have projected Tillman as a first-round pick, more often than not going late in the first round.

Those mock drafts are entirely based on projection, meaning players don’t have any information from draft evaluators about their true prospects. If Tillman gets an unfavorable evaluation he could return to school for his senior year to bolster his stock.

Getting both Tillman and Henry back would make a strong Michigan State basketball team even stronger. Those two were emerging as key starters and would reassume those roles for the Spartans this season.
