The Oklahoma Sooners look to make the College Football Playoff once again.

For the third year in a row, the Oklahoma Sooners are going into this season trying to replace a Heisman Candidate quarterback that was taken in the NFL Draft. They successfully replaced Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray to still make it to the College Football Playoff in three-consecutive seasons. Now, they look to do the same with Jalen Hurts.

Spencer Rattler is expected to be the starting quarterback this year and attempt to continue the Heisman legacy at Oklahoma. The five-star recruit out of Phoenix has all the skills to be a superstar, and the redshirt freshman could give Riley a multiple-year solution at the position.

However, with young quarterbacks come bumps in the road that Oklahoma hasn’t been seen to in recent seasons. Going into a year where the coronavirus is forcing college teams to do something they’ve never done before, prepare while everyone is off-campus for the most part and spring practice was cut short or canceled entirely for many programs.

The Sooners are looking to win the Big 12 for the sixth year in a row. There are some interesting contenders coming for their crown, but Oklahoma is still the favorite.
