NHL father-son duos: Keith, Matthew and Brady Tkachuk

Unlike the Domi’s, the Tkachuk’s are certainly born out of a specific mold.

Big and nasty with a penchant for scoring, Keith Tkachuk rumbled his way through the 90s, leaving a trail of terrified goalies in his wake.

During his time with the Winnipeg Jets and Phoenix Coyotes, Tkachuk established himself as on of the premier power forwards in the league with back-to-back 50-goal campaigns in ’95 and ’96.

Keith continued his productivity into the 2000s and ended his career with 538 goals and 1,065 points in 1,201 games, earning him a US Hockey Hall of Fame induction in 2011.

His sons, Matthew and Brady exhibit a lot of the same attributes as their father. They both use their large frames to overpower opponents, feast on pucks around the net and bring a cloud of nastiness to the ice surface.

Matthew has already posted three-straight 20-goal campaigns including a 34-goal season, making him one of the up-and-coming power forwards of the NHL. He’s a key component in the Calgary Flames resurgence of late and has already started feuds with high-profile vets like Drew Doughty.

His younger brother Brady is a shade taller, and is already off to a quick start to his NHL career. Back-to-back 20-goal seasons to begin your career with the Ottawa Senators is nothing to scoff at, and it appears as though the Tkachuk family name is alive and well in the NHL.
