Scouting Report. NFC. 4. player. 60. Pick Analysis. North. Minnesota Vikings

In the 2018 offseason, Kirk Cousins was the biggest quarterback name in the free agent market. He eventually decided to sign with the Minnesota Vikings and made history with the first full guaranteed contract (three years worth $84 million guaranteed). The first year was a disappointment for Cousins in Minnesota, as the Vikings failed to make the postseason after so much hype.

In year two of the Cousins experiment, the team squeaked into the playoffs as a Wild Card team and managed to knock off the Saints in New Orleans in the first round. That was enough for the Vikings to reward Cousins with a two-year extension worth $66 million.

While Cousins is fine, the Vikings might soon come to regret extending the 31-year-old signal caller, especially when he has a reputation for not being able to win the big games. Maybe his victory against the Saints in the playoffs was enough for him to shake that label, but it wouldn’t be surprising in the least bit if Cousins flamed out and Minnesota was left searching for their next quarterback of the future.
