28. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. AFC. player. 3. West. Las Vegas Raiders

This one might not be as shocking since the writing has kind of been on the wall for Derek Carr ever since Jon Gruden was brought in as the head coach.

Carr not being the long-term quarterback for the Raiders probably seemed crazy after the year he had in 2016 where he threw for 3,937 yards, 28 touchdowns, and six interceptions in the Raiders’ 12-4 season where they made the playoffs for the first time in 15 years. Yet here we are with the Raiders possibly looking to move on from the Fresno State talent.

Carr dropped off tremendously after that stellar season and with the Raiders moving to a new city, the clock is ticking for him in black and silver. In each of the past two seasons, there had been rumors that Gruden was interested in taking a quarterback in the first round and that’s typically not the case if a team is happy with their situation at the game’s most important position.

Derek Carr has to have a good season in 2020 or his time with the team who drafted him in the second round six years ago will come to an end.
