The season starts out tough with a battle against Alabama at AT&T Stadium.

Sep. 5 vs Alabama

829. Prediction. 34. 808. 45

This will be the marquee matchup in week one of college football in 2020. Two of the biggest and well-known names in college football will square off at the Dallas Cowboy’s home stadium in Arlington, Texas. It should be a fun one to watch too, as both teams will have some explosive playmakers on offense. With Alabama’s secondary being questionable coming into the season, this one could be more up in the air than many think.

Mac Jones will likely be behind center for the Tide and Najee Harris will return for his senior season at running back. Combine that with the return of DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle at receiver and you have an Alabama offense that will be as good as ever. This is a high scoring game, but there are too many athletes on the offensive side for Alabama.

Sep. 12 vs New Mexico

Prediction. 10. 863. 63. 808

After a hard-fought battle against one of the greatest college football dynasties of all-time, USC will get a chance to lick their wounds in week 2. New Mexico has been flat out bad the last three years under Bob Davies going 8-28 in that span. They’ll get a new head coach in Danny Gonzalez from Arizona State but it won’t help against the Trojans. USC gets their first win of 2020 in blowout fashion.

Sep. 19 at Stanford

17. 871. Prediction. 38. 808

USC will get a relatively easy Pac-12 opener this season as they travel to Stanford. Normally this would be a tough one to open with but after a 4-8 season last year, David Shaw’s Cardinals seem to be on the downward trend. There is still some talent there to compete a little bit, but the transfer bug will leave this team without much depth against a very talented USC offense.

Sep. 26 vs Arizona State

42. 808. Prediction. 24. 854

This has been a great matchup the last two seasons as the series has been split and both games were decided by five points or less. Herm Edwards has made this a respectable Sun Devil unit, but this is a team that loses its top two skill position players in running back Eno Benjamin and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. The defense is solid but it won’t be anything too special. Slovis continues his hot start to the season as the Trojans get their third straight victory.
