1 Kansas City’s offense is just too explosive

When in doubt, the Chiefs offense can always fall back on their ability to outscore the opponent. The unit’s ability to score points is enough reason to pick Kansas City as the AFC West champion in 2020.

The Chiefs offense only finished fifth in the NFL in terms of points per game last season, but their average was artificially reduced by playing in several blowouts. There’s not a more dangerous offense in the NFL than Kansas City trots out on a weekly basis.

Mahomes’ brilliance at quarterback is obvious and well documented. He also benefits from playing with a very talented group of receivers. Travis Kelce is one fo the best tight ends in the game. Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins, and Mecole Hardman give the Chiefs amazing speed on the outside. The aforementioned Edwards-Helaire will make the running game more consistent.

It may be hard to imagine, but the odds favor Kansas City scoring more points this season. Any time they’re pushed they feel confident that Mahomes can find another touchdown. No other team in the division has the offensive firepower to keep up. The Chiefs will score more than enough points to win an AFC West title this year.
