2. Acquiring two talented halfbacks

To say a team underachieved with its rushing attack when a non-scrambling, 37-year-old journeyman in Fitzpatrick led the team in rushing is an understatement.

Fitzy only needed 243 yards on the ground to be the team’s leader. The 2019 Dolphins averaged 72 rushing yards per game. To rectify the situation, the Dolphins made some moves.

Miami inked former Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles star Jordan Howard in free agency, while also trading a fifth-round pick to acquire Matt Breida from the San Francisco 49ers.

These two running backs are guys who can come in and compete for the starting job. While Howard will more than likely be the starter, second-year back Breida could compliment him well to create a threatening two-back system.

Howard is a back who fights for extra yards and has notched 1,000-yard campaigns in this league. Breida has good hands and over his career, averages 5.0 yards per carry. Behind a revamped offensive line, both Howard and Breida could flourish.
