1. Will Trevor Lawrence be Heisman-level great?

Considering his pedigree as a recruit and then that he took over the Clemson football offense as a true freshman and proceeded to lead the team to a 15-0 record and a National Championship, Trevor Lawrence had every eye in college football upon him coming into his sophomore season. But as the year began, things were a bit rocky for the all-world signal-caller.

Lawrence seemed to be sleepwalking through the beginning of the 2019 season and it showed. While Clemson stayed perfect, they were scared by North Carolina in a last-second victory and the quarterback was throwing an uncharacteristic number of interceptions. But that narrow win over the Tar Heels seemed to awaken the player we were expecting to see for the entire season.

Over his final eight regular-season games, Lawrence threw for 22 touchdowns and no interceptions as he dominated the rest of the ACC. He was also an absolute star against Ohio State in the College Football Playoff semifinal win. Of course, LSU had all the answers for him as he struggled but, on the whole, the second half of the year renewed the hype around Lawrence.

Now the question becomes what we’ll see from him in what is almost surely his final act in college football. With his arm skill and athleticism, Trevor Lawrence has the talent to win a Heisman Trophy. But as Clemson may need it this season more than ever before, will we see the player that emerged in the second half of last year for a full year or will there be more sleepwalking overshadowing his talent?
