1. RB Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans

He comes off one of the great postseasons in NFL annals as well as an unprecedented three-game stretch in which he propelled the Tennessee Titans to a playoff berth and eventually an appearance in the AFC Championship Game.

A second-round pick from the University of Alabama in 2016, running back Derrick Henry has been the hot name for the Tennessee Titans the past two years when it comes to the second half of the season. This past year, he would wind up leading the league with 1,540 rushing yards. But it was his final regular-season outing and two postseason performances that really caught a lot of people’s attention.

At Houston in Week 17, Henry ran for 211 yards and three scores and the Titans wrapped up a playoff berth. Six days later at Foxborough, he carried 34 times for 182 yards and one score as Tennessee dethroned the then-Super Bowl champion Patriots. A week later on a Saturday night at Baltimore, there were 20 attempts for 195 yards in the team’s upset win over the top-seeded Ravens.

So could Henry not only push for MVP honors but threaten the NFL record for most rushing yards in a season (2,105) – set by Rams’ running back Eric Dickerson in 1984? That’s the kind of accomplishment that would likely get a lot of attention by the voters.
