6. RB Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers

His highly-celebrated teammate has garnered the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award on two occasions. Heralded quarterback Aaron Rogers is one of the game’s great talents and remains one of the top signal-callers in the league. But the 15-year veteran has seen his production drop in recent years for numerous reasons and injuries in 2017 and ‘18 were certainly a factor. And with head coach Matt LaFleur at the helm, the Green Bay Packers’ offense seems very determined to become far more balanced and much more of a power football team.

This past season, running back Aaron Jones emerged as a force for the eventual NFC North champions. He played in a dozen games in each of his first two seasons but this past year, the 2017 fifth-round pick from UTEP was a 16-game starter. After totaling a combined 1,404 yards from scrimmage and reaching the end zone 13 times in his initial two years on 249 touches, Jones finished eighth in the NFL with 1,558 yards from scrimmage and tied for the league lead with 19 total touchdowns.

So could the Packers actually come up with a season in which Jones is the bigger factor than Rodgers? If Green Bay is to make a stronger run in the playoffs, LaFleur’s team needs to stress the running game even more in 2020.
