Texas A&M football: 5 questions the Aggies must answer in 2020
1. Do the Aggies knock off an SEC giant?
For the last time, we’re here to talk about the Texas A&M football schedule from 2019. They finished the season at 8-5 overall and 4-4 in the SEC. Those losses came at Clemson out of the conference, against Auburn and Alabama at home, and then at Georgia and LSU to finish the season.
What it boils down to is that the Aggies were unable to actually compete with the best teams in the country and in the SEC. For Fisher to garner the respect fans think he should command, that has to change. So the question all season will be if they can capitalize on their opportunities to do exactly that in the 2020 season.
Perhaps the best news for A&M is the fact that this experienced and talented team has the roster to compete with anyone. More importantly, the schedule is simply more favorable. They don’t face Clemson and their only SEC game that’s a true worry is at Auburn on Oct. 17 but the Tigers are a team that could be had by a team as talented as the Aggies.
There’s reason to believe that Texas A&M could start at 10-0. Where things come into focus, however, is that they end the year in Tuscaloosa to face Alabama and then at home against rival LSU. Do they have the goods to topple either of those SEC West giants? The answer to that will ultimately define their season.
