There are so many intangibles related to being the face of an NFL franchise – and Mahomes excels at all of them. Not only does Mahomes possess excellent motivational capacity, previously discussed; but Mahomes is also an excellent leader in, quite literally, every other way as well.

The Chiefs’ superstar is also a leader in front of the media – he seems to always say the right thing in front of the camera, and is never anything less than complementary when it comes to his coaches and teammates. We’ve yet to see an interview where Mahomes has a misstep – and no doubt that is part of what led Kansas City to trade up to snag him in the 2017 draft.

Finally, Mahomes is a leader in the community who is just starting to come into his own. He started a foundation focused on helping underprivileged children, “15 and the Mahomies,” shortly after landing in Kansas City. But, he has also recently began using his platform to speak out against racial injustice and to promote voter registration and rights ahead of the 2020 election.
