Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray

Quietly, the Cardinals are hoping that Murray can take a Lamar Jackson type leap in his second season. He certainly has the natural talent to become an All-Pro quarterback.

His ability to win an MVP Award will hinge on cutting down turnovers and leading the Cardinals to a division title. It’s probably too early for Murray to achieve this goal, but he’s definitely a dark horse to keep an eye on.

Los Angeles Rams: Aaron Donald

The Rams would love for Jared Goff to be an MVP candidate, but he’s just not good enough. That gives Donald the nod as the most disruptive defensive lineman in the entire NFL.

Again, it’s going to take a mammoth effort from any defensive player to win the award. Donald would have to enjoy a season for the ages. The odds are stacked against him, but his greatness earns him a spot on this list.

San Francisco 49ers: George Kittle

Kittle enjoys the distinction of being the only tight end to merit inclusion on the list. Quite simply, he’s the 49ers’ best receiver by a mile. If their offense takes a step forward in 2020 he’s going to put up insane numbers for a tight end.

The popular narrative that Kittle props up Jimmy Garoppolo’s mediocre play at quarterback sets up nicely for his candidacy. He might need to lead the league in receiving to be the MVP, but that’s not impossible for a player with his physical gifts.

Seattle Seahawks: Russell Wilson

Some things never change for the Seahawks. If they want to be Super Bowl contenders in 2020, they’ll need Russell Wilson to lead the charge. If he does, he has the ability to become a legitimate MVP candidate.

The challenge for Wilson is that Seattle’s offense will still be predicated on the run. That means he has to be insanely efficient to merit serious consideration. He might be a long shot, but he certainly can get in the mix with a special season.
