Roberto D’Aversa’s Parma seem to have the momentum coming into this clash, off the back of their 1-4 away victory over Genoa, although the head coach has been quick to play down talk of European qualification now being on the cards.
In stark contrast, Inter coach Antonio Conte was so infuriated by his side’s 3-3 draw with Sassuolo that he picked up yet another yellow card, meaning that he won’t be allowed to sit in the dug-out today. Assistant coach Cristian Stellini will take his place, as Conte looks on from the stands. Milan Skriniar is also suspended, having been shown a red card in the same game.
Although the result was far from satisfactory, Inter’s overall performance was good, so it’ll be intriguing to see if Christian Eriksen continues to be deployed in a number 10 role.
Conte’s mood will presumably have been lifted by reports that Inter are close to securing the signature of full-back Achraf Hakimi from Real Madrid, which would be something of a coup for the Milan side.
