5 reasons Raiders can win with Derek Carr in 2020
Elite Tight End and Running Back
The Raiders offense had two breakout stars during the 2019 season, one which was a rookie, and another who had to overcome addiction since coming into the league. Darren Waller is one of the better stories in football, as he nearly forced his own way out of the NFL, only to resurrect his career in Oakland and become one of the better pass-catching tight ends in the league.
Last season, Waller led the Raiders with 90 receptions, while racking up 1,145 yards receiving and three touchdowns. In 2020, he will be a focal point of this Raiders offense, and the only thing really missing from his game is the touchdowns, which I am sure Gruden already is scheming for ways to get him in the end zone.
Rookie running back Josh Jacobs rushed for 1,150 yards in only 13 starts last season, becoming the first Raiders rookie to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark in team history. Incredibly, he did his damage despite fracturing his shoulder in Week 7 against Green Bay, so you can expect a healthier version of Jacobs in 2020, and one who will be featured more in the passing game.
