Najee Harris starts YouTube series on training for upcoming Alabama football season
By John Buhler
Najee Harris will be the star of his new YouTube series.
Najee Harris is putting in the work ahead of his senior season with Alabama football.
Harris could have gone pro after his junior year at Tuscaloosa, but after seeing the Alabama Crimson Tide fail to reach the College Football Playoff for the first time in the new postseason format’s existence, he and several of his teammates opted to come back to right a wrong on the football field in their eyes.
He already won a national championship as a freshman back in 2017. Harris is coming off a Second-Team All-SEC campaign with the Crimson Tide, but he’s looking to add more hardware to his trophy case this fall. In a crazy offseason for us all, Harris announced on Instagram that he will putting together videos for his YouTube channel, showcasing his workout regiment.
“Over the next couple of months I will be creating videos to my YouTube channel it will be called “The Campaign” I will be showing how I prepare and train for the upcoming season full video coming soon”
Najee Harris will show off his workout regiment on his YouTube channel.
While we should applaud Harris for taking building his brand into his own hands seriously, let’s hope the NCAA doesn’t force its ugly head into the situation. The NIL debate is a losing battle for college athletics’ governing body. If Harris wants to create a YouTube channel in his own spare time, he should be commended for it, not ridiculed for it by some obsolete standard.
Harris will be drafted in the 2021 NFL Draft. He would have been drafted had he left school a year early. With a shot at winning another national title, there is good reason for players like Harris to return to school, in addition to getting a free education. However, if he receives any compensation from his YouTube channel, this could be another issue with the out-of-touch NCAA.
This is 100 percent about name, image and likeness, as Harris should be able to profit from it here.
