Dallas Cowboys

Jaylon Smith – The Cowboys linebacker is certainly talented, but he wasn’t a Pro Bowl performer last year despite getting named to the team. Smith enjoyed a much better season in 2018. This has nothing to do with Smith’s talent. It’s just that the reputation here is reaping awards that the player did not earn.

Denver Broncos

Garett Bolles – Bolles is going to continue to receive chances to start both in and out of Denver given the “former first-round pick” label attached to his resume. That said, he’s been a turnstile at left tackle for the Broncos and if Drew Lock is going to develop, the team neeeds to find a new answer (or have Bolles turn a significant corner).

Detroit Lions

Chase Daniel – Chase Daniel has attempted 218 passes in his 10-year NFL career. For doing so, he’s cashed nearly $35 million in checks from owners around the league.

While no one can blame him for doing so, and it’s not his fault that he’s sat behind some healthy quarterbacks, the reality is that cash earned in relation to production is very disproportional (read: overrated?) in Daniel’s case.
