The most underrated player for each of the NFL’s 32 franchises.

While the NFL has no shortage of coverage with its own 24/7 network and more viewers than any other single sport in the U.S., it’s still possible for good or even great players to fly under the radar. Either their team is poor overall or the market is small or they just happen to play next to other players that overshadow them. In an effort to help them out, we decided to make our list of the most underrated players from each team in the NFL.

Arizona Cardinals

Chandler Jones – The Cardinals are a young team with a lot of players yet to cement their reputations, but one player who has been producing on an elite level in the desert without the accompanying spotlight is Chandler Jones. It’s possible to make an argument for Jones as the single best pass rusher in the entire game today, but the team’s small market and poor record have kept him out of the limelight since his days as a Patriot. With Kyler Murray in town and plenty of offseason additions, hopefully Jones gets even more credit (e.g. becomes a household name) in ’20.

Atlanta Falcons

Ricardo Allen – As a former fifth round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Ricardo Allen has likely bested even the most optimistic projections from the Falcons front office in his underrated NFL career. The team’s starting strong safety since the 2015 season, Allen rarely receives his due given Atlanta’s perennial woes on defense, but he’s a strong run stopper who is decent in coverage. A torn Achilles will test his ability to bounce back in ’20, but he’s already more than rewarded the team’s initial investment in him.
