Tom Brady showed Cam Newton love on Instagram after he signed with the Patriots

After Tom Brady broke millions of New England hearts by leaving the Patriots to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this offseason, everyone figured Jarrett Stidham would be the one to replace Brady as the Pats’ starting signal caller.

Out of nowhere, though, Bill Belichick went out and signed former NFL MVP Cam Newton on Sunday night to a one-year deal. All signs are pointing to Newton heading to New England to run the offense and get New England back to the postseason.

As soon as Brady found out about the news, he didn’t waste any time in showing Newton love on Instagram for his big decision.

Cam Newton will look to silence his haters this fall with the Patriots

All it took was two emojis for Brady to make it clear he’s happy for Newton. At the same time, it can’t be easy for the six-time Super Bowl winner. New England will always be home for Brady and his wife, Gisele. Leaving town to go play with the Bucs couldn’t have been a no-brainer, and seeing someone else run the show for the Pats will be even more difficult.

However, Brady appears to be jacked up for Newton, who is looking to silence all of his haters after two seasons where it’s been a nightmare for him to stay healthy. He’s on a one-year, prove-it deal with the Pats to showcase he can still perform at an elite level. Will he deliver?

Newton will have plenty of supporters in his corner this upcoming campaign, Brady included.
