10 NFL rookies who could become instant stars in 2020
Jerry Jeudy
The Denver Broncos loaded up on skill-position talent in the draft, with many believing both they and the Las Vegas Raiders had set their sights on trying to keep up with the free-scoring Chiefs rather than attempting to contain them.
Whether that is a wise strategy remains to be seen but there is good reason to be confident in Jeudy making a speedy adjustment to life in the NFL in a Broncos passing game that has the potential to be extremely prolific.
Widely regarded as the premier route-runner in the 2020 class, there will be plentiful opportunities for Jeudy to exploit single coverage as part of an offense that also features a rising star in Courtland Sutton, tight end Noah Fant and deep threat K.J. Hamler.
It should not be long before Jeudy begins putting NFL defenders on skates like he did SEC cornerbacks during his time at Alabama.
Jeudy’s success, however, will depend on his ability to strike a rapport with second-year quarterback Drew Lock, who is still something of a mystery despite shining down the stretch in 2019.
But between the talent they have put together on offense and their still formidable defense, the Broncos have the roster to contend in 2020. Jeudy will soon ascend to stardom if he is a key contributor to a Broncos team in the thick of the playoff hunt.
