3. Justin Fields is majoring in consumer and family financial services.

Student-athletes are constantly scrutinized in terms of academics. These critics think players get by with their talent, and while there may be a minority of those who do, the majority of student-athletes still attend classes, study groups and labs, all while balancing a heavy workload on the field/court/ice. And Fields is no exception to that and major is Consumer and Family Financial Services.

Which is what exactly? Here’s how Ohio State describes it: “A bachelor’s degree in Consumer and Family Financial Services prepares you for a rewarding career helping individuals and families manage and understand their personal finances”

For right now Fields’ future is football, for at least the next 10-15 years, but this a major that Fields will be able to use during and after his football playing career, providing support and knowledge to families trying to balance their financial situations. This major would also seem to be something Fields will be able to use when he enters the NFL, so he can be able to invest his money, save his money and build up a net worth to be able to support himself and his family for the years to come.
