6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

After giving up 31 offensive TDs during the team’s 3-7 start this past season, the Bucs allowed just 10 offensive touchdowns in the final six games. This group will be better in a second season in his system. But when will franchised 2019 NFL sack leader Shaquil Barrett ink a contract (see Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times)?

5. Baltimore Ravens

Don Martindale’s defensive unit which exposed in the playoff loss to the Titans as Tennessee running back Derrick Henry ran for 195 yards. This offseason, GM Eric DeCosta added Calais Campbell via trade and Derek Wolfe in free agency to bolster the front line. Last year’s midseason addition of cornerback Marcus Peters proved to be huge.

4. Buffalo Bills

Head coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane brought in their share of former Carolina Panthers this year to bolster this defensive unit. The names include cornerback Josh Norman, linebacker A.J. Klein and defensive lineman Mario Addison and Vernon Butler. If the Bills’ run defense improves a bit, watch out.
