Juventus need to return with a better offer for Tanguy Ndombele
Juventus have a chance to save Tanguy Ndombele from his Tottenham nightmare.
Buying Arthur was the first step to Juventus’ midfield renovation, but the Old Lady aren’t done. Bringing in Tanguy Ndombele from Tottenham could give the club the ability to dominate Serie A next season.
The only problem is that Juventus haven’t made a serious offer to Tottenham as of yet. Spurs have already rejected the idea of a swap deal that would send Aaron Ramsey back to North London. Ramsey’s wage packet of £400 thousand per week with Juventus makes him an intensely negative asset from Tottenham’s point of view.
Can Juventus get a deal on Tanguy Ndombele?
That doesn’t mean Juventus aren’t heading down the right path. Ndombele is a player who is perfectly suited to thrive in the club’s three-man midfield. His ability to ping brilliant passes from a deep-lying position would be a great fit alongside Arthur and Rodrigo Betancur for the Italian giants.
It’s even fair to point out that Juventus should be looking to buy Ndombele on the cheap. His well-publicized issues with Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho should have Spurs looking to jettison him this summer. That doesn’t mean the Premier League club are going to give him away. They will still be looking for a significant transfer fee in exchange for their club-record signing.
Juventus would be well-served to try to meet Tottenham half-way before other European clubs jump into the race to sign Ndombele. The Frenchman’s talent is bound to attract a number of big clubs once the summer transfer window begins in earnest. If Juventus waste too much time before making a sizable offer, they might find themselves competing with the likes of Barcelona for Ndombele’s signature.

The right decision for officials in Turin would be to prepare their maximum financial offer and make it in the next few days. An offer in the neighborhood of £50 million might be enough to convince Tottenham to cut bait on the talented, but enigmatic midfielder. That fee would represent a significant financial gamble for Juventus, but it might pay off with significant silverware over the next few seasons.
