Patrick Mahomes is in the best shape of his life.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is riding high after a Super Bowl and Super Bowl MVP last season. But he’s not resting on his accomplishments. Nope, the former NFL MVP and certified superstar is working on getting even better.

That’s scary for the rest of the NFL and should put a giant smile on the faces of Chiefs fans around the world.

Mahomes has always been in good shape. I mean, you don’t win an NFL MVP award without being in pretty decent shape. But Mahomes is working on turning his body into a temple and a high-performance engine.

Mahomes shared a video of him training to get ready for the 2020 NFL season where he and the Chiefs will look to repeat as Super Bowl champions.

Mahomes’ trainer, Bobby Stroupe, who is the president and founder of APEC in Tyler, Texas teased the hard work Mahomes is putting in now will show itself in the fall and winter when the games matter the most.

I don’t know about you but seeing these workout videos right before I’m watching the hot dog contest on the Fourth of July has me thinking I need to work on my dad bod.

When the sun’s out in the summer, typically the guns are out, but I feel ashamed to let it show until I have my body looking right just like Mahomes. Let the Super Bowl MVP be the fitspo we all need to work on our dad bods so next summer we can flaunt our abs at the pool this time of year instead of balancing a paper plate of burgers, dogs and potato salad the cookout.
