This week, the PGA Tour presents fantasy golf fans with the inaugural Workday Charity Open. Let’s take a look at this event from a FanDuel/DFS perspective!

Before we dive too deep into this Fanduel selection, let’s it be clearly emphasized that this is not providing a specific lineup for this week’s PGA Tour event.

However, it is providing multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a FanDuel GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my FanDuel player selections for the 2020 Workday Charity Open.

Xander Schauffele $11,200

The 26 year old American has played some rather consistent and quality golf this season. Let me provide some specific data to better shed light on my previous statement. Xander has played 11 golf tournaments this season. In those 11 events played, Schauffele has nine top 24 finishes, including a third place result at the Charles Schwab Challenge in June.

Xander also checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. He is currently ranked ninth in strokes gained approach (.653), tenth in strokes gained tee to green, fourth in GIR (greens in regulation-73.15%), and seventh in scoring average (69.427) on the PGA Tour.

Cameron Champ $9,600

Champ currently ranks first in strokes gained off the tee (1.116) on the PGA Tour. He has two consecutive top 14 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a 12th place result at last week’s Rocket Mortgage Classic.

Viktor Hovland $10,900

Hovland has four consecutive top 23 finishes on the PGA Tour, including an eleventh place result at the Travelers Championship two weeks ago. He currently ranks tenth in strokes gained off the tee (.634) and eighth in strokes gained approach (.855) on the PGA Tour.

Ryan Armour $9,000

He arrives at this week’s event on the heels of two consecutive top six finishes on the PGA Tour, including a fourth place result at the Rocket Mortgage Classic last week. I also like the fact that Armour also has played well at the Muirfield Village Golf Club course in the past. He finished 22nd at the 2019 Memorial Tournament.

Brendan Steele $8,600

The 37 year old American has three top six finishes on the PGA Tour in 2020, including a sixth place result at the Travelers Championship two weeks ago. It should also be noted that Steele’s putter was on fire at the Travelers. To be more specific, upon completion of four days of golf at the Travelers, Steele ranked third in the field for putts per GIR (1.596).

Henrik Norlander $8,000

Norlander has four top 25 finishes on the PGA Tour this season, including a ninth place result at the Sony Open in January. He is currently ranked 12th in driving accuracy (69.35%) and 42nd in GIR (greens in regulation-69.94%) on the PGA Tour.

As always, good luck with your fantasy golf lineups this week!
