Three potential fatal flaws that could keep Georgia football from the national title.

Under head coach Kirby Smart, the Georgia Bulldogs have been one of the top tier squads in college football. Despite all the talent on the team, the Bulldogs have yet to win it all.

Over the last three years, they have been defeated in the national championship game and two SEC Championship Games. Georgia certainly has the necessary high-caliber players to win a national title and has been able to dominant the SEC East division. But unless the Bulldogs address some issues on the field, they will not win a national championship.

Expectations are high for Georgia football but Smart’s team isn’t perfect and these potentially fatal flaws could keep the Dawgs out of the playoff.

Georgia football flaw No. 3: Can Jamie Newman be an upgrade over Jake Fromm?

Former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Jake Fromm was unable to develop after his breakout freshman season over the last two seasons and shed his game-manager label.

Fromm’s most successful season with his team was his true freshman year in 2017 where the Dawgs made it to the national title game, and he was carried by elite players like Sony Michel and Nick Chubb. Without absolutely elite players surrounding Fromm, the lack of great quarterback play hindered Georgia as they got into the tough matchups of their season.

Now with Fromm having left for the NFL, the Dawgs will be looking for new blood under center. That comes in the form of Wake Forest transfer Jamie Newman who is already getting Heisman hype.

While Wake Forrest did have an unexpectedly successful season last year, Newman did not set the world on fire, throwing for a total of 2,868 yards with a completion percentage of 60.9.
