2. LB — Craig Robertson

Robertson finds himself in a tenuous position in New Orleans. He has fought for a starting job throughout his time with the team, but always had strong competition beside him, and the same is true for 2020. New Orleans added Kiko Alonso to the mix while seeing solid production from Demario Davis and Alex Anzalone, when healthy. The worst part? All four of these players mentioned are hitting the market in 2021 and New Orleans will not be willing to keep all of them.  Alonso and Anzalone still have many years ahead of them in the league, while Davis is the centerpiece of the Saints’ linebackers. Who knows what the Wisconsin rookie Zack Baun will bring to the table either, creating another piece of competition for Robertson.

There are a few things going Robertson’s way, however. His role as a utility linebacker means that he will be flexible to take over if an injury arises, and Alonso and Anzalone have a hindered history. That is talking potential though, and assuming all stay healthy, Robertson will stay on the bench instead. His role has been decreasing over time and more of the same is likely to occur in 2020.
