The Ravens entered the offseason knowing they needed to bolster their defensive line. Baltimore made the big splash in acquiring Calais Campbell from the Jacksonville Jaguars, and made the sneaky decision to sign former Denver Broncos edge rusher Derek Wolfe.

Throughout his career, Wolfe never lit up the stat sheets, but he did build a reputation of being a consistent performer at the line of scrimmage. In his eight years in Denver, Wolfe recorded 299 tackles, 77 quarterback hits, and 33 sacks through 108 games. His main issue as of late has been his propensity to pick up injuries late in the season. In 2017, he hit the injured reserve due to a neck injury. This past year, Wolfe played in 12 games before bowing out the remainder of the campaign after dislocating his elbow in Week 13.

Wolfe was signed to a one-year, prove it deal for a reason. He has to showcase his worth to earn himself a new contract come 2021. If Wolfe does, the Ravens and a bevy of other teams will extend him an offer. If not, Wolfe will have the difficult task of finding a team willing to give him another shot.
