Joel Embiid wants you to know he’s not going to get sick in the NBA’s Orlando bubble.
With the NBA’s restart only a matter of weeks away, players from all 22 teams that are participating in the bubble are making their way to ESPN’s Wide World of Sports. While getting back to normalcy and playing ball is important, making sure players stay safe is of the utmost priority.
For Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid, he is taking his own personal safety to the next level. Check out how he arrived to Orlando in style.

Embiid stepped out of a black SUV with all of the proper personal protective equipment. While everyone has been urging others to wear a mask, The Process went above and beyond. With a mask, gloves, and a full-body hazmat suit, Embiid is trying to stay as safe as possible. At the end of the video, even teammate Kyle O’Quinn had to have a laugh at his fellow big man.
A lot is always made of players showing up in tacky outfits on game nights. The question needs to be posed: did Embiid go for tacky, or is this truly fashion-forward?
Given the circumstances, Embiid is definitely going for fashion-forward. With the COVID-19 pandemic making the state of Florida its new hotspot for positive cases, staying safe and socially distant.
In addition, Embiid is already on the record stating that he is not a fan of the bubble format that the NBA is trying to accomplish. Trying to contain so many guys on 22 different teams is going to be difficult in itself. Making sure that each guy follows all the protocols and guidelines the league gave out is another piece that needs to be considered.
Nonetheless, Embiid is ready to work. With his weight always a cause for concern in Philly, it looks like the star center has taken quarantine to re-work his body. If Embiid can maintain the energy he was about staying safe and translate it to the court, the rest of the league is in trouble.
