NBA Mock Draft 6.0: Is anyone’s ceiling higher than Anthony Edwards?
By Ian Levy
The Knicks haven’t moved far enough into their rebuild to really move away from taking the best player available. Anthony may not be the best player available here but he’s arguably close enough to give him credit for the way he could complement R.J. Barrett and for the other things he brings to the table — name recognition for a franchise that’s desperately trying to recapture national relevance.
Anthony struggled a lot at North Carolina last season but many of the issues were structural — his UNC teammates shot just 29.1 percent on 3s this season, which constricted space for him to penetrate and made his passing and floor game much less dangerous. He should be more effective as a creator and finisher with other NBA-level scorers around him and his potential as a catch-and-shoot and pull-up shooter will play well in a partnership with Barrett.
