Warriors’ Eric Paschall says he was racially profiled at apartment building

Warriors’ rookie Eric Paschall claims that he was racially profiled in the apartment building he lives in. 

As the NBA is hoping to restart its season in a bubble in Orlando, Florida sometime around the end of the month, players are attempting to get back into shape for the restart, or just stay in shape if they have elected to not return to play.

The same holds true for Golden State Warriors’ rookie Eric Paschall who has been staying in the Bay Area and using his teams’ training facilities to stay in good physical condition. But, something disturbing that was unrelated to basketball happened to Paschall on Wednesday night.

According to Paschall, when he entered the apartment building that he lives in, he was told by a white woman that he does not live there.

Paschall has not specified where the incident took place and has not released any further details, other than just his tweet.

This surely comes as disappointing to Paschall who has praised the Bay Area and its people in the past

Paschall has in the past expressed how much he loves living in the Bay Area, and has also said that he loves the people, the laid back attitude, and the weather.

Since coming to Golden State after being drafted No. 41 overall in the 2019 NBA Draft, Paschall has impressed. He heated up as his rookie season progressed, and over the last ten games before the seasons’ pause, Paschall averaged 17.5 points per game, along with 4.2 assists per game.

After Pachall’s early success with the Warriors, he says he has felt truly embraced by the team and the Bay Area population, but that seems not to have been the case on Wednesday night.

What happened to Paschall is truly shameful. No one deserves to be profiled in their own home, and it is unfortunately something minorities deal with all the time.
