Malik Jackson shares support for Louis Farrakhan in deleted IG comment
Philadelphia Eagles veteran Malik Jackson has deleted a controversial Instagram comment.
DeSean Jackson found himself in the news after sharing a quote attributed to Adolf Hitler that was clearly anti-Semitic. The Philadelphia Eagles receiver quickly shared an apology and it seems he was just uneducated on the situation (if we are giving him the benefit of the doubt).
But the story does not stop there. Some jumped to defend Jackson, including teammate Malik Jackson. The veteran defensive lineman jumped into the comments on Instagram and shared a controversial take that has since been deleted.
Jackson expressed support for Louis Farrakhan, who has a long history of anti-Semitic statements.
Malik Jackson stirs up his own controversy.
Farrakhan is known for his hateful rhetoric and defending him in not a good look for Jackson. The comment has been deleted, but Jackson’s thoughts are clear. Farrakhan does have his supporters, however, his comments speak for his true thoughts.
This seems to be yet another unnecessary distraction for the Eagles. The team already had to speak with DeSean Jackson and now Malik Jackson appears set for his own talk with ownership. The receiver at least seemed remorseful for his actions. We will see if the defender feels the same about calling Farrakhan an “honorable” person.
The entire goal here is to not express prejudice toward any group. Supporting one group of people while expressing hate toward another doesn’t do any good and that is what Jackson’s comment does.
We will now wait to see if the Eagles put out another statement, or if this matter is handled behind closed doors. Jackson has the right to support whoever he wants, but that doesn’t mean he won’t face consequences as a member of the Eagles.
