4. Isaiah Pryor | S | Senior

Notre Dame had one of the best secondaries in the country last season, giving up just 169 passing yards on average per game, good for No. 3 in the entire country. That was due to quite a bit of senior leadership and now if the Irish want to continue their successful path they will need to replace some of those guys quickly.

Isiah Pryor will be a player that can step in as a newcomer and give them that experience right away. Pryor is a graduate transfer coming from Ohio State at safety. Pryor never exploded as a Buckeye but he did get playing time in a crowded backfield right from the jump. He played in 17 games his first two seasons in Columbus, before suffering an injury in 2019 that limited him to just one game.

Overall at Ohio State, Pryor notched 45 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, and one interception basically two seasons there.

Not only was he at an elite defensive team in Ohio State, he was also a highly rated recruit coming out of high school displaying that he indeed has what it takes to be an impact player in 2020. Pryor is a former four-star recruit hailing from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. IMG Academy is a sort of football factory in that state and Pryor was one of the best of the bunch.

Pryor couldn’t seem to find his way onto a secondary that was No. 1 in the country in pass defense last season at Ohio State. But Notre Dame will welcome him with open arms to hopefully continue their own dominance in the secondary in 2020.
