DeMarcus Cousins sends powerful message to anyone who thinks LeBron James isn’t the MVP
DeMarcus Cousins says anyone who doesn’t think LeBron James is the MVP is just a hater
Veteran NBA big man DeMarcus Cousins may no longer be with the Los Angeles Lakers, but that doesn’t mean he’s done being supportive of LeBron James. This week, Cousins came out and sent a powerful message to anyone who even thinks about voting for anyone other than James as the league’s MVP.
Plain and simple, the man known as Boogie says only haters think LeBron isn’t the NBA MVP this season. It’s hard to argue with Cousins’ latest statement.

LeBron James was averaging more than 25 points and 10 assists per game before play was stopped
“If you don’t pick LeBron, you’re just a flat out hater,” Cousins said emphatically.
The NBA is all set to restart in Orlando later this month, with the Lakers among the favorites to go all the way and potentially bring home another NBA Finals championship. Should they get that job done, it’ll make Cousins’ statement ever more powerful.
Despite now being 35 and turning 36 in December, James has shown no signs of slowing down whatsoever. Before play was stopped this campaign, King James was averaging 25.6 points, 10.6 assists and 7.9 rebounds per game. Those are simply impressive numbers, especially considering the Lakers were at the top of the Western Conference standings, with the Clippers 5.5 games back.
James of course won’t be handed the MVP trophy. Guys like Giannis Antetokounmpo, James Harden and Anthony Davis will certainly have something to say about things. The Greek Freak continues to amaze on the hardwood, and will only further push James if the Bucks reach the Finals.
However, the expectation is that James will do enough to get the trophy at the end of the campaign. If he doesn’t, Cousins will be among the folks out there who will be livid.
