10 NFL wide receivers who can lead the league in receiving
With all due respect to Thomas, Jones is the best wide receiver in the NFC South and the game today. His combination of exceptional size, speed, athleticism, and technique make him impossible for opposing defensive backs to handle.
Jones put up 99 catches for 1,394 yards in what was a down season for his standards in 2019. The Falcons have hopes of being one of the most improved teams in 2020. For that to happen, Jones is going to have to elevate his game in order to carry Atlanta’s offense.
The fact that Jones has a quarterback he’s worked with for his entire career also gives him a boost here. Matt Ryan isn’t the most dynamic signal-caller in the NFL, but he’s one of the most accurate passers in football when he has time in the pocket. When Jones has time to work he can get open against any coverage designed to stop him.
The last reason to gives Jones a slight edge over the competition is that his offense is going to be required to score a lot of points. The Falcons defense still is slated to enter the regular season as a major question mark. Atlanta will throw the ball early and often to stay competitive. That is why Jones is the best bet to lead the NFL in receiving in 2020.
