10 NFL wide receivers who can lead the league in receiving
Adams knows exactly what challenges Thielen is going to face this season. He’s been the unquestioned No. 1 wideout in Green Bay for quite some time.
Most NFL observers believed the Packers would take advantage of the deep crop of wide receiver talent in April’s draft to make Adams’ life easier. Instead, they spent high picks on a quarterback who won’t play in 2020 and a running back who is better suited for the NFL of the 1990s.
Those selections don’t bode well for the Packers win total this season, but they do serve as encouraging signs for Adams’ individual production. His target share is going to stay at an extremely high level. Look for him to exceed his career-high of 169 targets he posted in 2018.
The two valid concerns for Adams are a-whether or not Green Bay will throw the ball enough to give him big numbers and b-whether or not he can bounce back with a fully healthy season. Those factors might cause Adams to fail in his quest to be the top wideout in the league, but he’s still poised for a big year.
