There’s a cogent argument to be made for Ryan being the most boring quarterback on this list. That doesn’t mean he can’t help the Falcons forge an explosive offense in 2020.

Ryan threw for 4,466 yards last season in a very mediocre campaign for Atlanta. Team officials hope they can return to the postseason in 2020. If they do, it’s safe to assume that Ryan is enjoying a big season.

His relationship with Julio Jones on the outside is crucial for Ryan’s success. Luckily for the former Boston College star, Jones might be the most talented receiver in the NFL. That forces opposing defenses to double team him at a very high rate. That’s why secondary targets like Calvin Ridley can put up big numbers as well.

The biggest challenge for Ryan this season will be his downgrade at tight end. Austin Hooper was a massive weapon for the Falcons offense last season. Hayden Hurst won’t give Atlanta the same sort of receiving production. That might be just enough to prevent Ryan from leading the league in yards.
