Pro Football Focus snubbed Khalil Mack from its tweet about the NFL’s best pass-rusher.

Pro Football Focus omitted Chicago Bears superstar Khalil Mack from its tweet about the NFL’s best pass-rushers, instead, showing images of Aaron Donald, Chandler Jones, Von Miller, T.J. Watt, and Myles Garrett.

While Donald, Jones and Miller have all played at an elite level for years, many fans saw Watt and Garrett as questionable choices, especially considering that each has played just three NFL seasons.

Although Mack tallied just 8.5 sacks in 2019, the five-time Pro Bowler was still elite, forcing five fumbles. And while Garrett and Watt both posted better numbers in 2019, Mack’s track record is impossible to ignore.

The former All-Pro has posted double-digit sacks in four of his six seasons, and his bull-rush ranks among the league’s most unstoppable pass-rushing moves. Fans certainly took notice of Mack’s omission from the list, making a case in the tweet’s replies.

Bears general manager Ryan Pace was lauded after trading for Mack and going 12-4 in 2018, but myriad other problems caused Chicago to miss the playoffs and sit out the first round of the NFL Draft.

With Mitchell Trubisky entering his fourth season and the defense tasked with returning to its 2018 heights, 2020 looks to be a crucial season for Mack in Chicago after the team made him the highest-paid defender in the league.

The Bears are effectively locked into their current core, and the star pass-rusher’s play will likely dictate how far the team goes. However, to leave him off of a list of the league’s top-five pass-rushers is patently ridiculous.

Say what you will about his 2019 stats, but Mack is second only to Aaron Donald in pass-rushing talent. His sheer strength and surprising agility make him a nightmare for opposing offenses, and a threat to make a big play with every snap of the ball.

With sacks being one of football’s most volatile statistics, placing the likes of Watt and Garrett ahead of Mack after a better statistical season is irresponsible, and completely ignores the veteran’s unique talent and track record.
