Cowboys fans will love seeing Trevon Diggs in a Dallas jersey for the first time
Cowboys rookie Trevon Diggs looked great wearing a Dallas uniform for the first time
While the talk around town for a while now has been on Dak Prescott and whether or not he’ll sign a massive new contract by Wednesday’s deadline, other players in Arlington are also making headlines. Such is the case for 2020 second-round draft pick Trevon Diggs.
The former standout cornerback at Alabama couldn’t be happier to be in Dallas and is chomping at the bit to make his rookie debut with the team come Week 1. Need further proof of that? Check out how great Diggs looked while rocking a Cowboys uniform for the first time.
Big things are expected of Trevon Diggs with the Dallas Cowboys
In April, Dallas used its No. 51 overall pick to take Diggs. Jerry Jones and the front office couldn’t have been happier with the selection, as Jones said the Cowboys believed they had a 1% chance at having Diggs fall to them at No. 51.
Luck was on their side, as the 6-2, 195-pounder dropped a bit and Dallas pounced on him. The former Crimson Tide defensive back was simply sensational for Nick Saban while in Tuscaloosa. Last fall, Diggs posted 37 tackles, three interceptions and two fumble recoveries, one of which he took back to the house for a touchdown.
With his great 6-2 size, he’s able to sky high into the air to come down with balls too. A jump ball will never be easy for an opposing receiver. Because of his great skill, Dallas is hoping Diggs can step in and make an immediate impact. That’s something he’s used to, as he was a four-year contributor at Alabama.
Once Week 1 rolls around, look for Diggs to be flying all over the field for Dallas. As we’ve already seen, he’ll look pretty dang great once he’s rocking his Dallas jersey.
