2. Las Vegas Raiders

Despite the strained platitudes indicating otherwise, Raiders head coach Jon Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock are all but certain to move on from Derek Carr as soon as they have a good option. Interest in Tom Brady this offseason and the incentive-laden contract Marcus Mariota was given show it clearly, and drafting someone next April is a possibility.

Visions of Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson eventually in a Raiders uniform are intriguing, if not entirely realistic just yet (if ever). But Prescott could be freely available in free agency next March, with only (significant) money required to devote to him. He’s also a good bit younger than Rodgers and Wilson.

Las Vegas only has $34.58 million in cap space for next year right now. But unloading Carr via release or trade would clear $19.625 million, with only a $2.5 million dead money hit. Some other trimming via cuts or trades (Tyrell Williams, Gabe Jackson, etc.) could also be on the table.

At one point the Cowboys seemed to try to profess the marketing value in being their quarterback as a reason Prescott should take less money. In a similar, or even greater, fashion, he could become a huge star wearing Silver and Black in Las Vegas.
