12. NFL Power Rankings: Pittsburgh Steelers

Improved health alone could be enough to get the Steelers back to the playoffs for the first time in three years. James Conner and Juju Smith-Schuster both battled injuries in 2019, but Pittsburgh’s biggest blow was the loss of Ben Roethlisberger to elbow surgery after just two games.

Mason Rudolph and Delvin “Duck” Hodges couldn’t make enough plays to win key games down the stretch as Pittsburgh squandered an excellent defense to fall just shy of the playoffs. The Steelers still managed to win eight games without Roethlisberger and could hit double-digit wins again with him.

11. NFL Power Rankings: Buffalo Bills

This is another team on the rise as the Bills look poised to end New England’s reign of terror atop the AFC East. Buffalo had a chance to steal the division away from the Patriots at the end of last season but couldn’t seal the deal late in a Week 16 loss at Gillette Stadium.

The front office has done a great job building a deep and talented young roster, with the trade for Diggs adding a true go-to-guy to the Bills’ offense. Josh Allen has improved each year that he has been in the league and another huge step forward in year three could help Buffalo contend for a trip to the Super Bowl.
