In recent years, we have seen more transfers than we have in the past. The majority of those players that transfer typically are not receiving adequate playing time early on in their college careers. Luckily for Texas A&M, Senior defensive tackle Jayden Peevy has been with them through thick and thin and is ready for his time to shine on that Aggies’ defensive line. After spending three years playing behind Justin Madubuike, Peevy is ready to grab the reigns of the starting spot and help lead the Aggies to the promised land.

In Peevy’s first two years in College Station, he recorded just 26 tackles, three tackles for loss and only two sacks while appearing in 16 games. But in his junior year, Peevy made a huge jump, playing in 12 games, starting in three of those, and recorded 34 tackles, four tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. Peevy also recorded one pass deflection and even blocked a PAT against Alabama.

Entering college, Peevy was a three-star recruit by most scouts but provided a lot of upside and the Aggies development of Peevy has shown after his jump from year two to year three. And now entering his fourth and final year, Peevy is going to be dominant along the Aggies defensive line and has already caught the attention of the NFL as this season could determine where Peevy is taken in next year’s NFL Draft.

There is a chip on Peevy’s shoulder and he is eager to break out of his back up role and be a leader on that defensive line.
