Will Tommy Brockermeyer and James Brockermeyer commit together Friday?
Tommy Brockermeyer and James Brockermeyer will pick one of four Power 5 schools on Friday.
The twin brothers from All Saints Episcopal in Fort Worth, Texas announced within the hour of each other that they will be announcing where they’ll be committing to play their college football at. James beat Tommy to the punch by 59 minutes on Thursday afternoon. They are looking at the same four schools: Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Texas. Will they commit to the same program?

Though the Alabama Crimson Tide is the program the recruiting experts at 247Sports have them pegged to, keep in mind where their father and older brother’s allegiances lie. Their father Blake Brockermeyer was an All-American at Texas in 1994 and played nine years in the NFL with three teams. Their older brother Luke Brockermeyer plays linebacker for Tom Herman in Austin.
Can Texas continue the Brockermeyer legacy in Austin?
Though they absolutely have the right to make their decisions independent of each other, it feels like with them announcing on the same day that they’ll be going to the same Power 5 university. Otherwise, we could be in for quite the social media spectacle. Could you imagine if James and Tommy decided to not only play for different teams but completely spurn Texas in the process?
While we shouldn’t expect a Landon Collins breaking his mother’s heart on national television moment, we won’t know where the Brockermeyer Twins play their college ball until they tell us. Because they are being recruited by the same six men to these four Power 5 schools, it’s not unreasonable to expect they’ll commit as a tandem to either Alabama, Auburn, LSU or Texas.
Heading into the weekend, look for either Nick Saban, Gus Malzahn, Ed Orgeron or Herman to be over the moon about landing a pair of top-tier offensive line prospects. Given that Tommy Brockermeyer projects as the next Jake Matthews, you have to believe all four Power 5 coaches are praying to their lord and savior tonight in the hopes they’ll get both twins to commit to them.
Landing the Brockermeyer Twins will make one coach’s weekend amazing.
